Akshay Kumar as a naval officer played the pivotal role in the film and has won the hearts of his fans. This court room drama has received positive feedbacks and reviews from the critics as well as the viewers. On its released day, a large size of number turned up to watch the movie in theatres all across India. They were fully entertained by the uniform act provided by Akshay Kumar that left them with thrills and frills. Two major things impressed the audience; the first one is Akshay’s naval officer role and the another one is the plot of the film that loosely inspired by the real life event of the veteran Kawas Nanavati case. The story begins with the arrival of an Indian Naval Officer Cdr Rustom Pavri (Akshay Kumar) from a trip to the seas and finds that his wife Cynthia Pavri (Ileana D’Cruz) is not at home for last two days. The marriage hits the rock when Rustom discovers his wife’s affair with one of his friends named Vikram Makhija. He finds out some love letters written by Vikram to his wife.He waits for his wife to return and confronts those love letters to her. After an honest confession, he walks away before Cynthia could explain further.

Rustom is completely devastated after confronting his wife and revelation. He heads back to

Naval ship and issues a pistol. Afterwards, he searches for a hot headed Vikram, first in his

office then moves to his home. Rustom enters the bedroom of Vikram, and finds him there

next to him. Vikram’s servant who is making tea and breakfast for his boss, hears three gun

shots and rushes to his room. He finds Vikram’s dead body on the blood river in the room and

Rustom walking away from the room with the pistol in his hand.

Rustom surrenders himself to the police without wasting time and the Inspector Vincent Lobo

starts his investigation. In the jail, Cynthia tries to meet Rustom, but he refuses to meet her.

On the other side, Vikram’s sister receives this news and hires the best lawyer to defend her

brother’s case. The main plot starts with crime thriller and heads to its marvelous end with

various mysteries. The movie is completely a court drama and full of thrills that make the plot

intense and entertaining. The comic scenes also provide relief with its strength throughout the

film. The senior investigator officer Lobo also delivers a very good performance and justifies

with his character accurately.

According to some reviews, the film has inspired a large number of people in Indian and all

across the globe. Manjusha Radhakrishnan of Gulf News said: “Watch this film if you want to

see Kumar in all his noble glory. If you look carefully, perhaps a halo might even emerge from

this honourable man. But if you are anything like me, this film would have benefitted hugely

from exploring the cracks in his relationships.”

Rohit Vats of Hindustan Times said: “Lousy special effects and the language of certain

characters are a few things that warp the authentic feel of the movie. Yet, somehow Rustom

doesn't falter, except when you realise the movie two and a half hours long. Akshay Kumar

ensures that you root for Rustom Pavri. After Holiday, Baby and Airlift, it's one more step for his

brand of patriotism. It's an intriguing film for sure.”

Indiansongs.pk appreciates the efforts of the whole team in making this film so impressive and

inspiring. The critics reviews and criticisms are also very important for a constructive criticism.
